This Nippon Kogaku 8.5cm (85mm) f2 Nikkor-P.C is a compact telephoto lens that earned a legendary reputation through the 1950s and 60s. It is known for producing crisp, clear images. It offers a nice portrait telephoto focal length with a very fast f2 maximum aperture that would have made this lens prized by photojournalists in the 1950s. It is still a stellar lens today.
This lens has the Nikon S lens mount and is meant for Nikon rangefinder cameras. While Contax rangefinders have a very similar lens mount, this lens will not focus accurately on those cameras.
